Could a new Texas winery be home to one of the healthiest wines on the planet? It’s possible! Bending Branch is an innovative new winery just outside of Comfort. It’s a beautiful area, nestled in the rolling hills of the Texas Hill Country. What’s interesting about Bending Branch is that they are growing a hearty and very healthy grape, called Tannat, that is historically grown in southwest France. The Tannat grape is said to produce some of the world’s healthiest wines. Doctors have linked the grape to heart healthy benefits and longevity.
Bending Branch is one of the first wineries in Texas to try this grape. The wines are big and rich, dense and dark, with a reputation for aging well. If you are into Texas wines or simply enjoy scenic jaunts, Bending Branch is definitely worth the trip. Learn more about Bending Branch Winery.

I can’t wait to try the new wines at such an awesome winery! The winemaker, the family, are so caring and work very hard, which is reflected in their wines. I highly recommend you make a visit to the winery and experience some of the best wine you will ever drink. And, I live in Atlanta, GA, and love, love their wines! Sally Cook

Glad Tanji could make it out to highlight this winery, it was a favorite of mine since before the first visit, when I met owner Bob Young on a bus growing to dinner at last year’s TWGGA (Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association) meeting and heard him talk about his vineyard/winery.
Definitely good see that Bending Branch Vineyards is getting some additional publicity. I’ve had a good experience at winery, walking in the vineyard, and enjoyed their “new” take on what grapes to grow in Texas.
