Being from the South, if there is one food I can’t do without, it’s Tex Mex! Certainly I’ve looked for ways to not have to eliminate it from my New Year’s diet. The iconic La Fonda Alamo Heights is making that concept super simple this year! This way, you don’t have to go without your craving.

Their new gluten friendly, low calorie menu is tailored to help you cut carbs without skimping out on flavor. The Shrimp en Fuego comes in a tasty chile and lime glaze, and is an example of something that can do just that!

Also, be sure to check out La Fonda’s delicious beef and chicken fajitas. If you get them corn tortillas (instead of flour), you’re not cheating!

spinach_saladOne of my other favorites, their heart healthy Spinach Salad, comes mixed with strawberries, nuts, & Panela Mexican Cheese…it’s a lovely balance. Try it with grilled shrimp, salmon, or chicken. Finished with a zesty homemade mango dressing. Yes please!

skinny_margaritaThere’s also their low carb special with still with all of the essentials: avocado slices, tomatoes, lettuce and chicken. What more could a girl ask for? A skinny margarita perhaps! It’s always nice to have options…
