The last thing you’ll want to do is overlook this incredible Houston bistro. Arturo Boada’s was recently voted as the Best Neighborhood Restaurant by the Houston Press — one of many awards garnered by Arturo over the years. I absolutely adore this place! It’s charming and the food is outstanding. We’re not speaking strictly Italian…
Arturo Boada Cuisine is self-described as a ’boutique restaurant,’ drawing inspiration from pedestrian cities like San Francisco and the quaint cafes of Western Europe. Where it succeeds most is customization. Nearly everything on the menu can be tweaked, and many things that aren’t can be made. Arturo is a master in the kitchen! Are you hungry yet?
Watch Arturo work, whipping up three meals at once for our cameras! Those included a signature menu item — and a favorite of mine — his Camarones en Hamaca Henesy [shown above]. Sautéed shrimp with hearts of palm, tomato, cilantro in a soy-ginger sauce on a bed of sweet plantains…it’s Heaven on a plate! We also gave two other dishes a try: rigatoni with grilled chicken, sweet peas, mushroom and prosciutto in a suga rosa sauce, and fresh mussels sautéed in a Tomatillo Jalapeno Cilantro. Pure bliss. Each plate prides itself on a little spice for your dollar- prepare accordingly! Salute!
