Tempt us with tapas any time! Try out the flavors of Spain at El Chipirón in Austin, with Spanish Chef Pablo Gomez’ authentic tapas and pinchos bar on South Lamar.
“When you travel outside of Spain, you have a hard time finding proper Spanish restaurants,” said Gomez. “I feel responsible for spreading knowledge about Spanish culture and doing things the right way.”
We’re on the way, alright! Sample Salpicón de Pulpo with Galician Octopus and Shrimp or the Tabla de Quesos & Jamón Ibérico. Bring it home with a craft cocktail like The Tejano, with gin, Mediterranean tonic, rosemary, and star anise.

On a hot Texas day a cool treat is the ticket! Rise Up Acai Cafe in San Antonio now serves up their delicious açai bowls, smoothies, and cold-pressed juices with a side of A/C! After getting its start in an airstream trailer, you can now find them in a beautiful new 3,200-square foot brick and mortar location on Broadway!
Their beautiful bowls and beverages are bundled with vegan and organic goodness — making it one of the freshest finds for foodies! Need a little more temptation? They also feature donuts from vegan bakery Cake Thieves. Follow all the fun at Rise Up on Instagram.

One minute you’re in the hustle and bustle of Houston– the next, you’re in the French Riviera. That’s what it’s like to step inside Café Azur in Houston. Chef Sidney Degaine brings “Côte d’Azur to the heart of Montrose,” featuring Mediterranean dishes from Southeast France, like the Octopus with potatoes, capers, lemon, and anise [get that recipe here!]. Café Azur is an epicurean feast for the appetite and a feast for the eyes!
Order the mussels mariniére to start, then make your way to the infamous lobster ravioli with foie gras and white truffle oil. You’ll find Gulf Red Snapper and shrimp in the bouillabaisse– but don’t forget the sides! Homemade french fries and ratatouille are sure to delight!
