Three things that on the surface have nothing in common. But, Sunday at Central Market they all went together quite nicely. Steve and I were among a handful of judges working to decide the best of the best at Central Market’s Hatch Green Chile Cook-off.
No small task I might add. Steve and I sat at opposite ends of the judges’ table. He had a bucket of beers on his end, we had water on mine. Obviously, his would be the more decisive vote!
The entries were all good and included a green chile stew, green chile potato salad, dark chocolate green chile cake, plantains w/chile infused raspberry sauce, chile-n-yellow pepper soup w/ceviche and a chile hot fudge sundae.
The winner was the hot fudge sundae – it was delicious but so was the runner-up…the chilled soup w/ceviche.
