Vino Veritas – in wine there is truth. The Latin phrase from thousands of years ago rings true even today…in our most personal moments.
It was over a glass of wine at Zinc Wine Bar & Bistro that a group of friends from WOAI got together to toast Jennifer Broome on her next journey.
Having been at WOAI for some 17 years and leaving two years ago to start my own business, I know a little about what Jennifer is going through. Change is always a challenge…but challenges bring out the best in us all.
As a bottle of Bouchaine pinot noir sat on the table, it was nice to see some familiar faces like Jacqueline Ortiz and Delaine Mathieu. Even David Mazza stopped by…so did some of Jen’s friends.
The best boss ever while I was at WOAI, Don Perry, asked all his managers to read a book called ‘Who Moved My Cheese’. It’s pretty much the story of life. Nothing stays the same; change is the only thing that is truly a 100% sure bet.
When your cheese gets ‘moved’ you have to adapt—that is the truth. Move forward—don’t look back. Resentments, negativity do nothing but weigh you down.
I have no doubt Jennifer will adeptly move forward and meet her new challenges with courage and enthusiasm. She’s already started a travel website called Swept Away with Jennifer Broome.
Jen we all look forward to what’s next.
