I just got an email from a viewer of my website and WOW! Time to head to the Texas Hill Country for some peaches. They’re smaller this year but incredibly juicy.
Karen, a Goodtaste.tv viewer wrote, ‘Tanji, wanted to share the peach haul with you. Made my usual summer run for peaches and I either go to Golds or Vogels. Vogels had Red Globe and Loring peaches. Which all of these are. The best deal at Vogels was two half bushel boxes for $35 on their second peaches. They have a little rub or sunburn spot. I make canned salsa, preserves and slice and freeze in bags. These are Texas grown as some places sell imports.’
Karen, those look amazing, and you’re right. Buyer be careful. Be sure you’re getting the real deal!
Inspired anyone? If so, I’ve got all kinds of recipes for peaches on my website Goodtaste.tv …. You can check them out here.
