Eva Longoria’s event a big success!

I guess the Hollywood folks are used to every eye in the house tracking their every move when they’re out in public. That was the case Saturday night as Eva Longoria graciously greeted supporters at her annual Eva Longoria Celebrity Casino Night that benefits Eva’s Heroes – the charity she and her best friend founded to help mentally challenged teens and young adults.

Saturday night’s fundraiser was huge – nearly 1000 folks turned out to enjoy incredible food from SA’s top chefs, and a special treat – Royal Chef Darren McGrady who was Princess Diana’s chef for a number of years served his amazing tenderloin with a whiskey mushroom cream sauce from his popular cookbook ‘Eating Royally.’  Everyone raved about the Goodtaste Chef’s Corner, a new addition to the event.  The food prepared by the chefs was incredible.  Imaging dining at Boudro’s, Francesca’s, Paesanos 1604, Biga on the Banks, Luke,The Fig Tree, with Jason Dady,  Rosemary’s Catering and the Culinary Insitute of America all in one night!

One of my all time Spurs favs was there Malik Rose.

Sean Elliot and his beautiful wife Claudia were there as well as  nationally known (SA Local) jewelry designer Clauia Lobao whose jewelry Eva wears often on her show Desperate Housewives.

The setting was spectacular–inside a giant hangar at the SA International airport that belongs to chairs of the event Dick and Kristin Tips.

The final numbers aren’t in, but the live auction alone raised over $70,000!  Corporate Travel Planners and American Airlines donated a number of the items that went for big bucks.  Next year’s event promises to be even bigger and better!
