Your Not-So Holiday Wine List

November 22, 2011 By Tanji 1 Comment

Now how about some superb alternatives to vino on Christmas Day? You hear all about wine this time of year, but what other beverage can stack up to the rustic, hearty menus of Fall and Winter? Over the past few months we’ve been previewing a new ‘Beer of the Month’ here on Goodtaste.tv, which has led me personally to believe in all of the following as worthy, ‘tasteful’ placeholders to enjoy with your holiday smorgasbord…

Real Ale Fireman's #4
A blonde ale bombshell and one of my favorite Southern brews…Real Ale’s Fireman’s #4 is always crisp and refreshing. If you’re a Budweiser fan, you should definitely give this one a try – craft beers are so “in” during the holiday season and Fireman’s #4 is homegrown out of Blanco, TX!

Spaten Oktoberfest

Toasty, nutty and oh so yummy. I love the Spaten Oktoberfest for a number of reasons…it tastes like Autumn! Perfect with your holiday ham. Also take on your mashed potatoes or yams with it’s help!

Session Premium Lager

All hail the People’s Beer! The clean-tasting Full Sail Session Premium Lager is easy because it pairs with any number of items from macaroni & cheese to Christmas roast . It’s also an award winner…this past year it earned the Gold Medal at the US Open Beer Championships

Ace Perry CiderHere’s the real cure for the common Cabernet…Ace Perry Cider! Every course is covered here from salad to dessert.  Plus, see how you can cook your turkey with it…you’ll be surprised!

Tanji, I STILL do not receive your newsletter, in spite of signing up numerous times. You emailed me to let you know if I didn’t get the next one, and I DID NOT. Something must be askew, but I signed up properly!!!! I really like watching and listening to your wine suggestions and recipes. Maybe you can find out why I can’t seem to get the newsletter. Thanks very much. Trisha Neely
