The statewide roll-out is officially underway for one of the coolest malted beverages on the market. It’s award-winning beer from the Last Frontier! Say hello to Alaskan ale from the Alaskan Brewing Co.
In December 1986, operations went into full effect at this gorgeous Pacific hideaway. Husband and wife team, Geoff and Marcy Larson, and 10 volunteers spent 12 hours hand packaging the first 253 cases of Alaskan Amber for distribution in Juneau, Alaska – the first brewery opened there since Prohibition!
Today, Alaskan Brewing Co. has grown to become the most award-winning craft brewery in the history of the Great American Beer Festival and expanded distribution to 12 western states! Check out this video from a recent beer pairing dinner I attended at Sharky’s in Houston, featuring the knowledgeable Brewer Michael King of Alaskan Brewing Co. It was a lot of fun!
Noteworthy Varietals:
This mining town’s flagship entry; the Alaskan Amber is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that’s smooth and richly malty. Think year round, and be thankful it is! Try this Amber Glazed Salmon on for size…
