Attention all moms…this day was made for you! Leave the prep work, cooking and cleaning to the professionals today and enjoy an exquisite brunch in your honor. Many of my go-to spots are open for business, and even boast a custom menu tailored with YOU in mind!
The patio at Paesanos 1604 is BEAUTIFUL – from the fountain chock-full of colorful Koi to the lush landscaping and shady umbrellas. They’ve also just released their brand new Spring menu! On Mother’s Day, however, it’s all about the classic Shrimp Paesano. Mom can enjoy a small Caesar salad, 5-piece Shrimp Paesano, cheesecake served with seasonal berries & Grand Mariner sauce and a complimentary Bellini cocktail for a total of $31.95, plus tax and gratuity…not too shabby!
Francesca’s at Sunset has the perfect Farm-To-Table menu, and is sure to be a fam-friendly setting for your special Sunday. In addition to their scrumptious Silver Dollar pancakes, plenty of food and fun can be had for the kiddos during their Looney Tunes™ character breakfast, which runs concurrently and lasts thru the Summer.
Aldaco’s Stone Oak is now accepting reservations for Mother’s Day! Why not treat Mom to a bodacious brunch that La Maestra herself, Blanca Aldaco, describes as ‘meaty, juicy & zesty!” Choose from entrées like Blanca’s cheesy chilaquiles (a San Antonio favorite) and carne machaca. There’s also her recipe for chile relleno that’s gourmet, and great to try if you’re sleeping in and chowing down from home!
Crumpets Restaurant and Bakery adds a touch of European influence to Mom’s meal, thanks to Chef Francois Maeder. To see their entire menu made especially for Mother’s Day, click here. I recommend the Eggs Benedict or if you’re appetite demands it, the Trilogy: It’s a tenderloin of beef with Rossini sauce, lobster tail with lemon butter and a rack of Lamb Provençal – magnifique! And don’t forgot about dessert…
Whether it’s a holiday or not, there’s rarely an excuse not to visit Boudro’s on the River Walk. The serene setting only enhances already desirable dishes that put this bistro on the map…like their signature Blackened Prime Rib or terrific Tableside Guacamole. Choose from traditional dining or riding and dining aboard one of Boudro’s private river barges! If the weather remains nice, this may be the ultimate way to show Mom a good time.

‘Historic Landmark meets Texas Elegance’ at The Bright Shawl. Aside from the regular run of Sunday Brunch, their Mother’s Day menu is a buffet station supreme! Have your breakfast hot, cold, Continental – or just plain healthy! – with seasonal items such Belgian waffles, omelets, and eats just for children. I’m definitely a sucker for the crumb cake…what’s your craving?
