Super Bowl XLVII is shaping up to be a historic matchup, both on the field and off! For the first time in Super Bowl history, two brothers will face off against each other as head coaches. One thing’s for certain: my kitchen will be ready for kickoff come Sunday! Get your game face on to watch the San Francisco 49ers take on the Baltimore Ravens with these awesome appetizers that are all too appropriate for the occasion…Gochujang Wings anyone? 🙂
Akaushi sliders, like the ones crafted by Say She Ate, will undoubtedly be the star attraction…
Try using the rub of a real champion, former pro football star Dan Pastorini! I remember watching him while growing up in Houston. Dan and I got busy in Cooking Connections applying his gluten free, Texas Style Rubs on sliders.
Speaking of Cooking Connections….more excellent tailgate options come in the form of brawny bratwurst with sauerkraut on a pretzel bun and really easy ribs for your grill.
‘Those Green Sauce’ Borracho Beans also make a statement — and a spicy one at that! It’s made with one desirable dip: H-E-B’s That Green Sauce and includes healthy slivers of Chicken Poblano sausage. A solid side dish all around!
Call a timeout for some beef-stuffed potato spuds bulging with shredded BBQ brisket or these bacon-wrapped fajita poppers prepared in a fresh, hollowed out jalapeño…things are heating up!
I have some ideas for healthier ways of nibbling during those infamous commercial breaks:
One of my favorite guacamole recipes comes from Boudro’s…their Tableside Guacamole made with lime and orange juice. It’s delicious. As is this spinach-artichoke dip from the Gristmill River Restaurant. There are plenty of ways to make it, but theirs is a famous fixture on their menu. Let the wild feast begin!
