Fire up the grill and grab a glass! The rest of the country is discovering what we’ve all known in Texas for years–Sangria is good stuff, and it pairs great with anything from the grill. Up until now, I’ve always made my own Sangria from leftover wine and whatever fruit was in the refrigerator. Those days are over!
There’s a very cool and very tasty bottled Sangria on store shelves now called Eppa. What makes this Sangria special is that it’s made from organic grapes and organic juices that come from super fruits like acai, blueberries and pomegranates. It tastes great and it’s only about $12 a bottle.
I found mine at H-E-B but other stores will have it too. Eppa comes in red or white flavors.
If you’ve already got the Sangria and are looking for some good grilling ideas to go with, check out the incredibly tasty Guava-Glazed Baby Back Ribs. The sweet guava and the tangy spices make for a dynamite combination.
The recipe comes from the Culinary Institute of America’s grilling expert Chef Brian West at the San Antonio campus. You can grab the recipe or watch his technique as he prepares the ribs on Goodtaste.tv.
