The real “super bowl” this NFL season is in the kitchen! Chef Belinda of H-E-B Cooking Connections takes on tailgate appetites everywhere with a name that conjures up the most enticing of mental images…Salted Caramel Fantasy Nachos.
Guests at your next get-together will be in full blitz mode to get the last one of these! The assembly process is incredibly easy…with sugary sweet ingredients at every turn.
We began with sliced pineapple from the produce market at H-E-B. Lay them in stacks and cut into bite-size increments. Then, toss with Adam’s Reserve Jamaican Jerk Rub. It contains raw sugar…a little bit of spice and heat to balance out the sweetness of the pineapple.
Next you’ll want to heat up some grape seed oil up in a cast iron skillet, then add the pineapple, letting it sit at first in order to properly caramelize. This acts to bring out the sugars and essence of the fruit! Be sure to watch the video for the remaining steps in the cooking process.
Throw this toasty concoction in a glass or bowl with cinnamon pita chips, adding even more love with Robert’s Reserve gourmet Pineapple Coconut Mango Tequila Sauce (all natural and gluten-free by the way). It’s a tag-team finish with heated Maldon Caramel Sauce drizzled on top, joined by Crema Mexicana – a fresh and cool touch. Bravo!
