This super fun dish that screams ‘fall’ is also incredibly healthy! Chef Belinda Dernier of H-E-B Cooking Connections made her Candy Corn Chowder for Goodtaste cameras: gluten free, dairy free and vegan friendly! Plus, it tastes great.
Freshly diced onions, parsley, and thyme begin to sizzle in a hot pan with Chef’s Basting Oil you can find exclusively at H-E-B. The addition of the onions starts to really turn up the notch on the aromas already building…it’s too bad we don’t have Smell-O-Vision!
Once things get to a good temperature, corn, butternut squash and southern-style hash browns are added to the mix. Some of the these ingredients, like the squash, you can find already cooked and packaged in H-E-B’s produce department.
Stir everything together until you get a little bit of toast on these veggies. The aromatic garlic essence of the basting oil is incredible…and adds to the fabulous golden, crisp flavor.
