Truly one of the best culinary events of the year is right around the corner…The 11th Annual Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair on April 23-27, which attracts wonderful chefs from across the United States and Mexico.
H-E-B is the presenting sponsor of this weeklong event that is a must-do on just about every foodie’s list. Many wineries from all over the world are also on hand as well as craft brewers.
H-E-B sommeliers will be pouring some of their best DI wines – Direct Import Wines (ask when you’re in the store) which focus on big taste at low prices. These wines are often made by the big name brand wineries, but H-E-B negotiates special bottlings for its customers. H-E-B also hosts a beautiful display at Friday’s Grand Tasting that’s chockfull of delish deli meats and cheeses, sushi, Scratch Baked Breads and Cakes. Also, H-E-B Cooking Connection chefs will be sampling some of their tasty dishes as well.
Many of H-town’s top chefs will be at the Grand Tasting serving some incredible samples. Talented Executive Chef Neal Cox from Olivette at The Houstonian is among them, and he agreed to share his recipe for Grilled Scallops with Arugula and Pearl Couscous Salad. I’ve been a long time fan of Olivette’s arugula salad, but this dish takes it to new heights.
Executive Chef Manuel Pucha with TABLE on Post Oak will also be at the event. The chef shared a delish recipe for his Ponzu Crab with our Goodtaste.tv viewers, and I have the recipe right here.

Another sample of the caliber of culinary choices at this event comes from Chefs Shanna and Brian O’Hea from The Kennebunk Inn (Kennebunk, ME).
These folks are always a fan fave at the Sugar Land Wine and Food Affair.
They shared their recipe for Lobster Lo’Maine right here.
