Bask in the juicy goodness of Burger Week on Goodtaste.tv! It’s that time of year to kick your grilling into high gear with the quality meat, lush toppings and soft, buttery buns to bring it all together.
Snack Bar Austin’s Happy Burger [above] is a prime example of a big mouth burger that’s worth every extra muscle it takes to smile. It’s that fulfilling! Choose from branch ranch beef, red bir farms chicken or a goodseed veggie patty and go wild with additives on top…cheddar (or gruyere), avocado, a fried egg or flying pig smoked bacon to name a few.
Here’s how we’re looking elsewhere around Texas…
Houston:
The Chef’s Burger from Exec. Chef Craig Bianco at Harwood Grill is made with certified American Akaushi Beef – the healthiest and best tasting beef known to man! It’s composed of an 8 oz fresh-ground Akaushi patty, aged cheddar, honey baked Texas pancetta and grilled onions on a daily-baked Challah or in-house bun. Served with hand-cut french fries or house slaw…
This award winning combination [below] recently took top honors (Judge’s Choice) at Houstonia Magazine’s 2nd annual citywide Burger Bash!
Bite into an Asian interpretation from Chef Jef Taylor of Del Frisco’s Grille — The Banh Mi Burger.
This Burger of the Week contender includes two 4 oz prime burger patties (Del Frisco’s signature mix), pickled carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, cabbage, ghost-pepper jack cheese, and sliced pork belly. And it’s all topped off with a house-made Korean BBQ sauce! Served with seasoned sesame fries:
Arguably the tastiest Turkey Burger you’ll find is at the Arbor Grill at The Houstonian Hotel. Grilled pineapple, chipotle mayo, swiss cheese and fresh baby greens come together like old friends on a soft whole wheat bun:
San Antonio:
My favorite burger in San Antonio is the Zinc Burger from Zinc Wine Bar & Bistro. It’s a combo of a sun-dried tomato aioli, parmesan tuille, smokey cheddar, and bibb lettuce with quality meat and a brioche bun. Unanimously so addictive that Zinc regulars refer to it as the ‘crack’ burger! Plate at home with home fries, or drop by for the real thing…a steal at $10.
Then, of course, there’s the superb Devil’s River Lamb Burger (also from Zinc), made with Serrano fig jam, triple brie, sweet grilled onions and Sambal mayo. Try serving this luscious offering with sweet potato fries:
If you’ve got a favorite burger recipe, let us know! Feel free to pass along any ingredients and instructions for cooking (as well as a pretty pic too, if possible!) to: goodtaste@tanjipatton.com.
Honorable mention to this award winner below, Janette Nowak’s Razzle Dazzle Burger. This burger achieves a balance between the spicy, sweet, and savory flavors that we love: the fresh raspberry-avocado salsa, the patty with just a touch of heat from chipotle chile, and the sweetness of the almost-addictive salted caramel bacon…
