The sights and sounds of bustling New York City are electrifying! Whether I’m here to work or play, there’s only one place I ever stay…The Sherry-Netherland. I recently made a trip back just to see an amazing piece of artwork that was recently discovered there under some 13 layers of paint.
Experience true luxury in every last detail at this iconic Central Park hotel. From it’s amazing location in the heart of Manhattan, to its oversized accommodations and amenities, this historic facility is, in many ways, an intimate glimpse into another era. There are only 54 hotel rooms and suites, but in the tower above the 24th floor there are single apartments to each floor.
Perhaps one of the most stunning aspects of the French Gothic hotel is the newly uncovered artwork that graces the vaulted ceilings throughout the first floor. If you’ve ever been to the Vatican or are familiar with its library, you will be in awe of at what they’ve restored here at the Sherry-Netherland.
General Manager Michael Ullman guided Goodtaste through this glorious reveal, which for decades had been hidden by 13 layers of paint. Watch our short video above to see more. This is a special place that prides itself on five-star customer service…and is home to the best martini I’ve ever had at it’s restaurant, Cipriani!
