There are several seasonal releases to take stock of from the Real Ale Brewing Company. Looking ahead towards the remainder of the year, these craft standouts take centerfold: the Shade Grown Coffee Porter, Real Ale’s version of the Oktoberfest and their ‘double extra special bitter’ Phoenixx.
Their Coffee Porter has just the right amount of richness; a robust porter with a dry finish and brewed with organic fair trade coffee from Katz Coffee Roasters. The consensus is it’s an irresistible ale, especially if you fancy a regular cup of Joe!
Oktoberfest is the Bavarian brew of the season. Real Ale’s is made from the highest quality German malt, hops and yeast. Just imagine…smooth, copper-colored and not too heavy — this Oktoberfest has a sensible balance and perfect for any outdoor autumn activities.
Of course, limited releases like the award-winning Hans Pils’ have since been upgraded to year round status when we last checked in on the guy in Blanco, TX. It’s the second lager to come out of Real Ale, following the Oktoberfest, and hoppier than your average pale ale…earthy and spicy too. We love it here on Goodtaste…so seasons greetings! Now grab a mug :).
