Time to shop in the wine department at H-E-B! We’re previewing several brand new labels you’ll see floating around shelves this month…
Our first is a Pinot Grigio out of Italy, Nobilissima, at $13 a bottle. It’s light and crisp with floral notes and flavors of tropical fruit. Pinot Grigios are especially nice because they’re refreshing and flexible when it comes to pairing. Ralph recommends calamari or sea bass — both currently in season.
Wine #2 is from Argentina – a blend of Malbec/Merlot/Cab. You’ll taste blackberry, plum…complex flavors on this varietal from Bodega Norton. Pair with something rich and saucy like carne guisada, ribeye or osso buco. $12/bottle.
The Black Hole Cabernet from Napa Valley has a funky label we love! It’s a 2011 vintage that retails for around $20 a bottle. Rich, juicy and bold, this Cab also boats flavors of cherry and blackberry.
