The outdoors are calling and for a lot of us that means paying more attention to what we consume heading into summer. Goodtaste recently linked with self-made chef, Bre’anna Emmitt, to sample some of her favorite Paleo foods while poolside at Keith Zars…
[Now, when you Like Keith Zars Pools on Facebook thru Sunday, May 31st, you’ll automatically be entered to win the Superstar Backfloat by Monster – a floating wireless speaker and speakerphone for your pool! That’s a $150 value…]
He Won’t Know it’s Paleo is Bre’anna’s first cookbook; an Amazon Best-Seller and available as an e-book, on your kindle or in softcover print. Paleo refers to the diet of our ancient ancestors, based around things like meat, nuts and berries. It’s a lifestyle choice that’s markedly curbed some lingering health issues for Bre’anna, inspiring her to start cooking in such way going forth.
A fan favorite from the book are Bre’anna’s Asian Lettuce Wraps, prepared in a style and presentation similar to P.F. Chang’s or Pei Wei, but with all Paleo ingredients. A 30 minute job, start to finish, with luscious results:
Her spicy Mexican Green Sauce has a consistency and taste similar to a mix of guacamole and traditional green salsa. Think of it as ‘replacement’ guac–but every bit as good! Try plating with plantain chips as an alternative to tortilla chips:
Dessert can be this show-stopping Blackberry Cobbler. Just 5-7 minutes of prep and this tart creation takes care of itself in the oven…super quick!
Much like a Paleo diet, a pool can be a lifelong commitment to fitness. Swimming is a great way to stretch out, de-stress and stay cool during our dry months in South Texas.
Whether your reasons are for recreation or an inviting way to exercise, my friends at Keith Zars can help you install a variety of pool designs in as little as 6 weeks, so the time is now to get the ball rolling… 😉
