Wind down this Sunday’s activities with one last spirited confection for Mom. A low key evening at home with the fam may be just what she needs after a lengthy day of lovin’! Cozy up on the couch with her favorite TV show, play a card game or simply settle in for some nice conversation. It’s the little things that will make her day all the more memorable…
The following “boozy” desserts we compiled include alcohol as needed — nothing overboard. Ingredients are more for flavor and consistency, as is the case with this NOLA-inspired Milk Punch recipe [above]. This creamy, milk-based beverage comes by way of New Orleans and is rather popular around holiday time in the Deep South. Introduce a bit of bourbon and rum, dust with nutmeg, and you’re in business!
Capture her heart – and the keys to her stomach – with these decadent Oreo Wine Nutella Cupcakes, i.e. all of her favorite things rolled into one. The filling is purely crushed up Oreos and Nutella, while a red wine blend is among the ingredients called for in the baking process. Take a bite out of Heaven…it’s right here!
Put the ONLY certified gluten-free vodka on the market to good use! This Chocolate Cream Pie uses Tito’s Vodka (based in Austin, TX) for a flaky, unrivaled finish to the pie crust. The entirety of the dessert is also gluten-free, and is created with a tart and pie crust blend from Blackbird Bakery:
Maintain portion control and allow Mom to consume the deliciousness here in doses with these powdered Donut Holes with Kahlua Ganache! A total of 10 minutes including prep AND cook time. The ganache is rich and uber chocolately…be sure you have some milk handy!
No doubt about it, our boozy desserts certainly put the ‘happy’ in Happy Mother’s Day.
