With so many fantastic spots to choose from during Houston Restaurant Weeks, where to start?? The annual Food Bank fundraiser returns August 1st with over 200 participating locations! Here’s a few I have my eye on, but believe me there’s a whole lot more!

A Sugar Land staple; good old fashioned Cajun food in a casual, laid back environment in the Town Square. Rouxpour is doing a $35 Dinner Menu featuring a parmesan crusted Mahi Mahi topped with jumbo lumped crab and their famous cheesecake, homemade, with your choice of strawberry, chocolate or caramel sauce.
Chef Mark Holley’ s phenomenal seafood eatery and oyster bar is built around family. His exquisite Blackened Grouper is only available on the $45 Dinner Menu, however, $20 Brunch and Lunch Menus are being offered as well. The Thai Curry Mussels are another star, steamed with sake, kaffir lime and green papaya.
Don’t forget dessert! I recommend the Down South Coconut Cake with spiced pecans and salted caramel sauce.
This place is near and dear to my heart…where my husband and I got engaged. 🙂 The 3-course $45 Dinner Menu contains plenty of options and also includes wine specials! A Fire Roasted Hen is just one of several standouts. Dessert could be a Blackberry Dream – angel food cake with limoncello cream.
Find the following at your local H-E-B! Thanks to Mary at Montrose Market for these rec’s!
