It’s chili weather all right! Hunker down this weekend with a hearty helping of happy! These ‘healthy choice’ chili recipes are all made with lean proteins, plus additional diet friendly ingredients to keep you on par with your goal of eating better in the New Year.
My friends at Zedric’s supplied us with the tremendous Turkey Chili you see above – chef-prepared with browned turkey, black beans, yellow corn, poblano peppers and more.
There’s also this Venison Black Bean Chili recipe I’ve held onto over the years from Executive Chef & Owner Ross Burtwell of the Cabernet Grill in Fredericksburg. It’s made with ground venison and garnished with toasted pepitas (pumpkin seeds) as well as Pepper Jack cheese:
For my vegan friends, this Yellowbird Vegan Chili combines cauliflower, butternut squash and white quinoa along with a hoppin’ habanero sauce for slow cooker perfection in just under an hour!
