SPRING IS IN THE AIR! Join us this season on a path to rediscovering our state parks! Nothing like some extra Vitamin D to stir the spirit within. Lunch outdoors doesn’t have to be a production either. Something light and simple with little to no cleanup oughta do the trick. 😉
We’re loving Forthright’s Turkey Sandwich, oven-roasted and sliced thick, with savory homemade bacon jam and whole grain mustard for a delicious duo of a spread. Or, try this version [below] with brie cheese on sourdough, along with fresh baby arugula and fig jam. To assemble, wrap with baker’s twine and you’re off!

Although there are MANY impressive parks across Texas to speak of, here’s a familiar few everyone that should experience at least once:
Houston
The McGovern Centennial Gardens is home to a diverse collection of gardens- arid, rose, woodland and an interactive family garden. You can get a bird’s-eye view of it all by walking the spiral path to the top of a 30-foot mount… 😉
Austin
Zilker Metropolitan Park is widely considered Austin’s most beloved park. Here you’ll find Barton Springs Pool, a natural spring-fed pool with a year-round average temperature of 68 degrees. Sports enthusiasts will dig the sand volleyball courts, plus a nine-hole disc golf course and two multi-use fields. The Zilker Botanical Garden is also a must see!
San Antonio
Brackenridge Park is shady and quiet, surrounded by a plethora of trees and wildlife. Feed the ducks along the San Antonio River and revel in the serenity right on the lawn. This is your opportunity to embrace nature and unwind!!
