The food and wine of Italy were the inspiration for Goodtaste, so why not some amazing Italian wine finds?
Romeo & Juliet Prosecco
Up first, a lovely prosecco called Romeo and Juliet — easy to remember, right? Lovers and non-lovers alike can enjoy this wine, with delightful hints of apples and pears. It makes the perfect starter to any meal, but it’s great all by itself. It’s priced at $13.
Rossi di Montalcino
Second, if you love Brunellos but don’t love the price, look for Rossi Di Montalcino’s. They’re called ‘baby Brunello’s’ because they’re made from the same strain of Sangiovese grapes. Brunellos are aged longer and have more layers of flavor, one of the reasons they’re more expensive. Rossi is delightful and pair beautifully with all kinds of roasted meats, even chicken and in some cases, fish dishes. The Col’D Orcia is a wonderful choice at $24.98 — you’d pay twice as much for a good Brunello!
Tenuta La Badiola 642 “Il Canapone”
I’ve saved the best for last — this is one of my favorite new finds of all time! Tenuta La Badiola 642 “Il Canapone” is named after its latitude line in Tuscany. This region makes some delicious red wines and this one is no exception with its dark luscious berries and hints of vanilla, tobacco, even a little taste of cloves! Pair it with anything carniverous! A crazy good buy at $15!
