When it comes to finding a wine that tastes fabulous but isn’t too pricey, I’ve found a few that really pack a punch in flavor — and price! You’ll want to stock up on these ahead of the holidays!
Scroll for a delectable Sauvignon Blanc and two luscious Cabernet Sauvignons. You can find all of these at your local H-E-B!
Perles de Sauvignon Blanc
Starting with this lovely white wine: The Perles de Sauvignon Blanc by GĂ©rard Bertrand. Not only is it a beautiful buy, it’s also a beautiful bottle with a gorgeous little strand of pearls around its neck and a glass cork! This wine is made from organic grapes and is perfect for seafood and vegetarian dishes with its bright citrus flavors. It also has a hint of vanilla that comes from being aged a few months in French oak. You can experience this beauty for a beautiful $17 a bottle.
Joseph Carr Cabernet Sauvignon
You can always depend on Joseph Carr for a luscious Cabernet Sauvignon. This one is made in the Paso Robles region. The area has a huge fluctuation of temperatures every day: cool at night and very hot during the day. This combination makes for a full bodied and rich Cabernet with silky tannins. This wine goes great with meats of all kinds, but very easily by itself. It’s priced around $20 a bottle.
Fortress Cabernet Sauvignon
The Fortress Cabernet Sauvignon is a delicious buy from Sonoma County. You’ll taste dark fruit like blackberries, cassis, and pomegranates with a silky finish. There’s even a hint of sweet pipe tobacco, which reminds me so much of my grandfather! If you’re having a special steak for dinner, then this is your wine. It’s priced around $28 a bottle.
As always, I found all of my wine finds at H-E-B!

I would love to see you collaborate with HEB and have a wine class in store for those of us just learning the basics on wine. Most of my wine trials have been through your recommendations and they are greatly appreciated but I would love to learn more.
