Fall is my favorite season for drinking wine. The weather has cool, but the sun is still out and there is nothing more relaxing than taking in the colors from my patio with a glass of buttery chardonnay or a plummy malbec. Goodtaste and H-E-B have partnered again to bring you some excellent wine picks for all of your fall festivities.
Sacha Lichine Rosé ($9.98) is perfect for your next cookout. This deep pink rosé is extremely refreshing with hints of watermelon and peach, making it a great blend of summer and fall.
This next pick deserves a place on your Thanksgiving table. The Wente Central Coast Pinot Noir ($15.98 – 19.98) is a bold red that pairs fabulously with turkey and cranberry sauce. Pinots are very flexible in that they pair equally well with chicken, fish and beef.
Our last pick from Mendoza, Argentina is the Hector Durigutti HD Mendoza Malbec ($17.98). This malbec tastes like a cross between a cabernet and merlot. There are initial undertones of a merlot and then the intense flavor of a cabernet. Barrelled in French and American oak, you’ll get tastes of vanilla and cinnamon, too.
As always, you can find these wines and more at your local H-E-B. Bonus: Get 10% off your entire purchase when you buy six or more bottles.

Do you have more of an advantage by signing up for the weekend at the Houstonian more than once?

No, one will do it 🙂

I love your wine picks, but sometimes have a difficult time finding them at HEB in San Antonio. Any suggestions?
Tanji says
I try to find wines that are widely available. HEB is wonderful about answering customer requests. If your HEB doesn’t have one of our wines, ask the wine manager and I’ll bet they can get it for you. If you need help, email me about the wine you’re looking for and I’ll track it down for you 🙂
