Fall is officially here and even though the temperatures haven’t quite caught up with the calendar, we can still drink like it has! To help you transition to some cooler weather, I stop by We Are Austin and share 4 bottles that’ll get you ready to fall into fall. Watch the segment here.
My Wine Finds:
Rosé is a great transitional wine from hot to cooler weather, and this one has bubbles making it great for any-weather sipping. The A to Z Wineworks Bubbles Sparkling Wine from Oregon is made with Pinot Noir grapes. It’s not sweet and has body so it’s a great wine to help you get ready for more big red wines in the fall. $17
This next pick is a MAJOR bargain alert! The Joliesse Pinot Noir is a new wine on my radar and I had to share it with you. You’ll get hints of dark red fruits like cherries and plums with more delicate nuances of strawberries and cinnamon. $9
If you want to splurge a little for your first sip of fall, try the Planet Oregon Soter Pinot Noir. Oregon Pinot Noirs tend to be more complex and have a lot of layers and earthiness. This is a great food wine and will pair with anything from steak, poultry, fish and even your vegan dishes. $20 (Give your local H-E-B a call before you head to the store – some H-E-B locations don’t carry this bottle.)
Our last pick is the Joseph Carr Cabernet Sauvignon. The region where it’s produced, Paso Robles, California, has a very unique growing environment where the temperature varies by 50 degrees from morning to night. On the nose, you’ll smell black cherries, licorice, caramel and vanilla with a bit of cherry and warm spices. $22
As always, thank you to our good friends at KEYE CBS Austin! You can find all of these wines at your local H-E-B or buy them online at HEB.com. Bonus: Get 10% off your entire purchase when you buy six or more bottles.
