The holidays are just around the corner and you’re going to need some versatile wines to pair with every dish on your table. Jamie from the H-E-B Montrose Market in Houston shares her classic pairings that are approachable and food-friendly.
My Wine Finds:
Unoaked Chardonnay is trending right now and we have the perfect pick for Thanksgiving. The 2015 Tolosa Winery No-Oak Chardonnay from Central Coast California is lighter and brighter compared to a Chardonnay that’s been aged in an oak barrel. It has acidity, which is perfect for when you’re eating a lot of heavy food, and refreshes your palate. $17
Next, is a cool-climate Pinot Noir from Chile: the Viña Casablanca. It’s spicy on the nose and has bright red raspberry and earthiness on the palate all while being clean and crisp. $13
Lastly, a classic American Pinot Noir with some French style. Roserock Pinot Noir is from the Drouhin family who has made Pinot Noir in Burgundy for generations. It’s elegant and complex; you’ll taste cherries and some vanilla and earthiness that lingers on the finish. $34
You can find all of these wines at your local H-E-B or buy them online at HEB.com. Bonus: Get 10% off your entire purchase when you buy six or more bottles!
