It’s so easy to love Houston. Folks have come here for decades to find success and fortune. My family did so when I was about 7 years old, moving us from West Texas to start a new life in the booming city on the Bayou. They never looked back.
Entrepreneurs can soar in H-town. Their adventures not only create jobs and boost our economy but also provide some great entertainment. Take Ben Berg, the creator of the VERY popular B&B Butchers steakhouse. He left his roots in NYC and moved his family to H-town some 10 years ago looking for a place to call home… and mega success. He found both, and lucky for us, his creations continue to populate Houston’s already-thriving dining scene.

Most recently, Ben joined forces with well-respected Executive Chef Robert del Grande to evolve the iconic Cafe Annie in Uptown, which reopened in September as The Annie Café and Bar. Never one to sit back and take a breather, Ben recently launched a new event called Supper Club at The Annie, a special evening of dining, live music and dancing.

My husband and I attended the Valentine’s weekend show that was themed “Love Songs” and featured some of Houston’s talented performers, along with the Richard Brown Band. The evening reminded me of the legendary shows at The Carlyle in NYC, but I must say, the food at The Annie is better.
The schedule is out for the next few months. Ticket price and seating times change per-date but always include a 3-course prix fixe meal and the show. It’s a great date night all-around!
