We’re celebrating the cooler weather with cozy foods and, of course, cozy wines. Hearty braises, roasts, and casseroles call for full-bodied wines, so Tanji rounded up a few finds perfect for the season. As always, all of these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
Up first, Chardonnay fans will love the Josh Cellars Lodi Chardonnay, which is a go-to in our house. With notes of citrus and honey, this wine is easy to pair with chicken, fish, and pasta. $19
Our next find is the Felino Red Blend from Argentina. This wine is mainly malbec with a splash of cabernet, making it a luscious pairing alongside lamb, steak, or anything off the grill. It’s smokey on the nose with flavors of plums and blackberries on the palate and a spicy finish. $20
The Falesco Tellus Cabernet Sauvignon from Umbria, Italy is quite delicious with dark fruit, baking spices, and a hint of eucalyptus on the finish. It’s a perfect steak wine and a real bargain to boot. $14
