Here at Goodtaste, we love small kitchen appliances of all sorts. We’re talking high-powered blenders, espresso machines, panini presses—you name it. And when it comes to convenience-meets-health-conscious kitchen gadgets, there’s one powerhouse in particular that we’ll take any excuse to fire up—the air fryer. An air fryer (much like this one from Cuisinart) is as easy as a toaster oven to operate with the added benefit of turning out healthy, perfectly crispy, air-fried foods every time you use it. From fruits and veggies to meaty mains, here are five tasty air fryer recipes we think will have you all fired up, too.
Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
Healthy French fries? Why not! Not only are sweet potatoes a rich source of fiber, but they’ve also got loads of iron, calcium, and vitamins B and C, too. And when seasoned with salt, garlic powder, and paprika and air-fried to a crisp (as Feel Good Foodie does in this recipe), they’re every part as delicious as their deep-fried counterparts and exceedingly better for you.
Air Fryer Okra
We love all-things air-fried, but okra has got to be one of our absolute favorites. Breaded in Panko and run through the air fryer, it doesn’t get slimy at all—in fact, the air-fried okra comes out perfectly crispy and crunchy. The secret—as A Beautful Mess will tell you—is in a savvy double air-fry method, and in our opinion, a good ole shake of salt.
Sriracha-Honey Chicken Wings
Busting out the air fryer for the big game next Sunday? Whip up these easy Sriracha-honey chicken wings from Karen’s Kitchen Stories and get ready to score major foodie points among your football-loving friends. Just make sure to have lots of napkins nearby.
Air Fryer Whole Wheat Pizza
Air-fried pepperoni pizza? Yes! There’s nothing this handy little appliance can’t do. Plus, this recipe from Stay Snatched keeps things both easy and healthy, using store-bought whole wheat pitas for the crust and loads of heart-healthy tomato sauce. If you’re feeling extra healthy, you could even swap out the pepperoni for a handful of chopped mushrooms or spinach, or consider skipping the cheese entirely.
Air Fryer Apple Chips
An apple a day is easier than ever thanks to these little snackers from My Forking Life. Slice as thin as you can (a mandoline helps here), leave plain or season with anything from cinnamon-sugar to apple pie spice, and air-fry until crisp.
