Cheesecake Apple Pie

Two desserts in one is for sure a win! This cheesecake apple pie from Inside BruCrew Life is best served with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce—making it the star of your Thanksgiving meal.
Cranberry Gingersnap Pie

Cranberries aren’t just for sauce this year. The View from Great Islands created not only a visually stunning pie, but a new Thanksgiving must! The ginger cookie crust balances the tart cranberry curd, creating a delicious and unusual holiday pie. The vibrant color of the cranberry filling will be a decoration in itself on your Thanksgiving table!
Bourbon Pecan Pie

Pecan pie is already a crowd pleaser, but this bourbon pecan pie from Crazy for Crust brings the heat to the dinner table! The bourbon elevates the toasty pecan filling—and makes it the perfect pairing for your post-dinner night cap. To switch it up you can also stir in some chocolate chips prior to baking! Just make sure the pie cools completely before you slice it up.
Sweet Potato Pie

This sweet potato pie from Simply Recipes has all the comforts of fall. It is very similar to pumpkin pie; however, sweet potatoes are sweeter than pumpkin, allowing less sugar to be used in the recipe. It is also packed with vitamins and nutrition, making it easier to go back for seconds. Pro tip: make sure to puree the sweet potatoes well for a smoother taste and texture.
Deep Dish Apple Pie With Cheddar Crust
Say Cheese! This Food & Wine recipe wins the top spot in our book. A fun twist on the Thanksgiving classic, the cheddar crust will have your guests asking, “Why does this taste so good?” Pair this pie with a hot toddy or an after-dinner glass of vino for a perfect finish to a perfect meal.

Sugar Spice Pear Galette
We love this super simple galette—its rustic, free-form shape is a welcome addition to the traditional Thanksgiving desserts spread. It’s a great alternative for people who are intimidated by shaping pie dough and the pears make a nice swap for anyone not so keen on apple.
Pecan Slab Pie
Dessert for a crowd, anyone? This recipe shape-shifts the classically round pecan pie into a sheet pan baked for entertaining. Spread your pre-made or ready-made crusts on a sheet pan and then deck out the pan with pecans, brown sugar, and of course a splash of bourbon, too! This brown beauty is sure to feed a whole crew, and maybe even leave some epic leftovers—if you’re lucky!

Move over lemon, we have a new meringue in town and it’s as sweet as pie! This Sweet Potato Meringue pie could even beat out the fan-favorite pumpkin this year. And with its toasted clouds of egg white meringue on top, you could even skip the whipped cream … if you want.

I am interested in the maple pumpkin pie but I would not use chocolate in the crust. Can’t eat chocolate or pumpkin. So substitution. What could I substitute? Also don’t like apples, am allergic to potatoes (sweet and regular). So basic crust but would need to substitute something for the pumpkin. So many people have allergies today. But I never see a recipe with ,,,, if allergic to, need to substitute in, would prefer vanilla, maple, butterscotch, cinnamon, or another flavor. I am always changing recipes. People love what I come up with.
Why didn’t I think of that? I love that phrase. Well, remember we can’t always eat the same thing. Some don’t like the same thing. Just remember in recipes, to allow leeway for others. So what can I substitute for the pumpkin?
Oddly, my son can’t eat pumpkin either but he can eat butternut and delicata squash. I can’t explain it but hey, he likes it and he doesn’t have any reaction to it so I love it.
