This weekend we’re taking our wine finds overseas for a few favorites from some famed wine regions in Europe! We have bottles for you all the way from France and Italy. As always, all of these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
I would have never thought you could buy a good Bordeaux on a budget! Well, I was wrong. This Chateau Saint-André Corbin is proof with lovely notes of blackberry, currant, vanilla and licorice. This is a great wine to pair with your next steak dinner. $21
A new wine to put on your list is the Zenato Alanera Rosso Veronese from Italy’s Valpolicella region near Lake Cuomo. You’ll get hints of toasty spices and coffee with a layer of fruits like cherries and plums. This is a beautiful wine to pair with meats or even a buttery-rich fish like sea bass. $17
I will admit, I’m a bit partial to Taittinger Champagnes after having toured the beautiful Champagne house in France. The Taittinger Cuvée Prestige Blanc Brut is classic French Champagne with crisp green fruits like apple and pear and enticing yeasty notes. A fantastic, special party wine any time of year. $54
