Join us this weekend for a can’t-miss episode of Goodtaste with Tanji!
We’ll feast like royalty at a fortress-style brewery in Fredericksburg that exudes the heritage of the old-timey German town. While grabbing one of the 23 different beers they brew at Altstadt Brewery, dig into the incredibly decadent chicken schnitzel with roasted mushroom cream and silky mashed potatoes.
Next, we make our way to San Antonio for mesquite-grilled steaks and fiery cocktails at J-Prime Steakhouse. This over-the-top steakhouse fires up quality prime beef butchered in-house with an eye towards Brazilian traditions. We’ll taste dishes like the bright and citrusy octopus and shrimp ceviche served with crispy, flash-fried yucca chips all accompany juicy steaks galore.
Last, we visit the Texas coast for a slice of Sicily at Mario’s Seawall Italian Restaurant. The Italian family running the shop has been throwing the dough here for more than half a century. However, you’ll find more than piping hot pies. They also serve fresh-from-the-gulf seafood like the Cioppino bursting with mussels, shrimp, clams and a mountain of crab claws.
You don’t want to miss out on the action (and incredible food)! Find your showtime below.

We watch “Good Taste” every Saturday. Love the show! I wish we could get the recipes, though. We’re in our 70’s and have 3 dogs. It’s hard to go great distances. BUT – we do the ones we can. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, Virginia 🙂
Looking for two places-
Restaurant serving brunch breakfast-pot pie?
Dessert pies other side of Austin?
Hi Mercedes- the pie spot near Austin is Texan Cafe in Hutto….as for the breakfast pot pie, we’re think you might be referencing The Buttermilk Cafe in New Braunfels. We made a breakfast type quiche on that episode that was done in a pot pie like container. Hope that helps 🙂
How did you know I was in the mood for a great beer and a grilled steak? Bingo! I will try them out! xoxox, Brenda
