Fall is here, and you can already feel it in the air! To help get ready for the cooler temps, Tanji did all the research on seasonal wines here so you don’t have to. As always, all of these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
Up first, the Raeburn Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley in California, a place in Napa known for its beautiful Chardonnays. The Raeburn doesn’t disappoint—you’ll taste fresh pear, crisp apple, and just a hint of vanilla. Pair this with a cheese tray, pasta, chicken, or seafood … or enjoy a glass all by itself! ($15)
Up next, a beautiful wine from the Piedmont region in northern Italy: the Marchesi di Barolo Ruvei Barbera. This is such a versatile—and delicious!—red wine. On the nose is spicy vanilla, with notes of roasted hazelnut and dark cherry, and cranberry on the palate. This wine pairs with rich pasta dishes, mushroom risottos, chicken, and meat of all kinds. ($19)
Lastly, we’re going back to Napa for the Jax Y3 Cabernet Sauvignon. It has classic Napa Cab flavors of blackberry, black plum, and vanilla notes from the year it spends in French oak. This popular full-bodied red is sure to please everyone at your table. ($21)
