Looking for a wine fit for a crowd? Whether you’re hosting or attending a holiday get-together, you won’t want to be empty-handed in the drinks department. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite finds for groups to enjoy, all under $25! As always, these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
Chardonnay fans, this one’s for you! The Ferrari-Carano Vintage Select from the Russian River Valley boasts aromas of pear, white peach, graham cracker, vanilla, and buttercream, all perfectly balanced by vibrant and refreshing flavors of Fuji apple, cinnamon, and Meyer lemon. This wine will pair with everything on your holiday table, but it’s also fabulous all by itself. ($19)
I’m loving this Stoller Family Estate Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley. This wine is similar to the Burgundian classics, with its flavors of bing cherries, hints of spice, and perfect acidity to go with all kinds of different dishes, from turkey to fish to lamb. ($22)
My second Pinot Noir pick this week is The Night Brigade. If you’re a fan of Belle Glos, you’ll enjoy this bottle too, as it’s also a Joe Wagner wine, whose family makes Caymus, Quilt, Meiomi, and more. It’s luscious with notes of plum, raisins, vanilla, and spicy oak. ($19)
Lastly, we have the Monrosso Tuscan Red Blend from our friends in Italy. With Syrah as its lead grape, this is a wonderful wine for a crowd, with its fruit-forward flavors of cherry and blackberry. The tannins are light, so it will be a friendly wine to pair with foods like pizza and pasta. ($14)
