We hope the holiday season is putting you in the mood to celebrate the joyous things in your life. We’ve pulled together some beautiful wine finds to do just that! As always, these bottles (and many more!) can be found at your local H-E-B.
Up first, the Airfield Estates Viognier from Yakima Valley in Washington State. The aromas of peach, honeysuckle, and jasmine will reel you in, but it’s the tastes of apple, honeydew, and spice that’ll keep you pouring more. Viogniers pair wonderfully with all kinds of foods and please all kinds of palates. ($17)
Next, fans of buttery Chardonnay will love the aptly named Shortbread Chardonnay. This pick complements grilled chicken, pastas, and vegetables … and provides a lovely sip all on its own. ($16)
Cabernet lovers, this next pick is for you: the CrossBarn Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma County. If you already like Paul Hobbs’ wines, you’ll take an instant liking to this one, which is beautifully balanced with dark cherry, cassis, vanilla, and a hint of chocolate. ($51)
As a holiday bonus, we’re featuring the La Storia Merlot. La Storia makes terrific wines, and this Merlot represents them well. Think dark cherry, plum, vanilla, and cocoa. A great wine for any meat on your table—perfect with prime rib! ($22)
