Love is in the air, y’all! Tanji stopped by News4 San Antonio this week to share some fun ways to celebrate the perfect Valentine’s Day. To wow that special someone, try Mi Familia at the Rim, which has a love-infused Valentine’s Day menu that includes a mixed salad with champagne vinaigrette, sauteed asparagus, and a smoky and savoy Mexican beef Wellington. Save room for dessert – Mi Familia will be serving up an indulgent Grand Marnier chocolate mousse to satisfy your sweet tooth!
For a French-inspired Valentine’s Day, head to Mon Chou Chou at The Pearl. Their Valentine’s Day menu starts with a mushroom tart made with seasonal mushrooms and Texas black garlic, topped with a quail egg. The menu also includes a gorgeous squid ink risotto with octopus, grilled shrimp, and saffron sauce. For dessert, you’ll get a ‘floating island’ made with soft poached meringue, a Grand Marnier crème anglaise, and a beautiful caramel heart garnish.
Whether you opt for a magnificent Mexican meal at Mi Familia or a fantastic French feast at Mon Chou Chou, be sure to call ahead for reservations!
If you’re staying home on Valentine’s Day and whipping up a meal of your own, Tanji brought along some great wines for your special night in, including the Yellow Tail Pure Bright Chardonnay – a low alcohol, low calorie option for guilt-free sipping. Tanji also recommends Luchi (her favorite prosecco of the moment) as well as the splurge-worthy Rose Rock pinot noir. You can grab all these bottles at your local H-E-B!
