Tanji stopped by KPRC in Houston this week to dish about the new podcast Goodtaste for the Soul.
For more than a decade, Tanji has been a familiar face on Texas television, bringing viewers along on flavorful adventures across the Lone Star State. As the host of Goodtaste TV, she’s made it her mission to spotlight the best eats, drinks, and hidden gems – while also sharing the personal stories behind the chefs, pitmasters, and restaurant owners who bring those places to life.
Over time, Tanji found herself wanting to go deeper and to spend more time in meaningful conversation with the inspiring people she met along the way. That spark led to her newest project: Goodtaste for the Soul, a podcast where food and life stories come together in thoughtful, soulful ways. Tanji says, “It truly was divinely inspired. I’m doing this because I felt very led to do it. Everybody has a story and that’s our goal with Goodtaste for the Soul – to share those stories and to connect with someone on a deeper level.”
Recent episodes feature powerful conversations with Houston rap icon Bun B, legendary chef and restaurateur Sylvia Casares – known to many as the “Enchilada Queen” – and Emmy-winning chef and TV host Lidia Bastianich. Each story is a reminder that good food often comes with even better stories.
Of course, Tanji brought along some of her favorite wine finds too. Check them out below! To watch the full KPRC segment, click here. To subscribe to the podcast, click here!
