Bud Royer's Famous Chocolate Chip Pie
Wow!! This is a big deal! Royers Round Top Café takes small town charm to another level. The owner Bud has his signature Chocolate Chip Pie - it's a recipe that's almost NEVER given out! One of the best I've ever had. Chunky, rich ingredients that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth...
- 1 c sugar
- 1 c packed brown sugar
- 1 c all-purpose four
- 2 large eggs lightly beaten
- 2 sticks of melted unsalted butter
- c ½coarsely chopped pecans
- c ½chocolate chips
- 1 cafe pie shell 10 inch
- Mix sugar, brown sugar and flour together. Stir in the eggs and then the butter, combining well. Allow mixture to cool for 30 minutes then fold in the nuts and chocolate chips. Spread in the prepared crust and bake at 325 degrees for 60 to 70 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. This pie freezes exceptionally well, if it lasts that long!
