This version of Rails' rich & creamy Red Velvet Cake comes with an extra kick! We've added rum extract as well as chile chipotle powder to our mixture from H-E-B Cooking Connection for a twist on this devilish delight...


  • 1 box  Red Velvet Cake Mix
  • 1 tbsp  McCormick's Chile Chipotle Powder
  • 1 cup  white chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp  Rum Extract
  • 1 bar  HEB Cream Cheese room temperature
  • ¾ cup butter room temperature

  1. Bake cake according to directions on box, adding chile chipotle powder to batter.
  2. Remove and allow to cool (place cake in freezer up to 6 hours for easier handling).
  3. In a mixer, whip cream cheese till on medium speed until fluffy about 2 minutes.
  4. By double boil method, melt down chocolate chips. Add melted chocolate, rum extract, and butter to mixer on medium speed, and mix until creamy and smooth.
  5. Ice cake whole or cut into mini cakes and dress them up as desired.
