Healing Golden Milk

We love this Healing Golden Milk made with a nut milk of your choice, turmeric powder, and coconut oil. The nut milk has added fiber benefits, aiding in making you feel a bit fuller. Coconut oil is naturally antibacterial and some recent studies have found it may be beneficial in raising your HDL cholesterol, or the the so-called "good cholesterol."
Servings 1 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cups organic turmeric powder
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cups nut coconut, soy, or hemp milk
  • 1/2 teaspoons coconut oil
  • Honey or Stevia, to taste

Instructions

  • Mix together the turmeric powder and water until it becomes a bit thicker than pancake batter.
  • Bring it to a boil—stirring continuously. Lower the heat to just a bit higher than a simmer and cook the paste for about 10 minutes—adding a bit of water to thin, as needed.
  • Let the paste cool and store it in a glass jar in the fridge for up to a month.
  • Every day, mix a teaspoon of the turmeric paste into a cup of nut, coconut, soy or hemp milk.
  • Add some sesame or coconut oil and honey, or other sweetener, to taste.
  • The turmeric will settle into the bottom of the glass; to get the full medicinal value, keep swirling the mixture as you drink.
