Auberge du Soleil's Pecan Coffee Cake
From a recent trip to Napa Valley, I enjoyed a delicious Pecan Coffee Cake from Auberge du Soleil. I like it so much I got the recipe just for you!
Cake Batter
- 2 oz unsalted butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup buttermilk
Pecan Coffee Cake Streusel Topping
- 1/8 cup sugar
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 oz unsalted butter cold & cubed
- 4 oz chopped pecans
Cake Batter
Cream butter, brown sugar and sugar in a mixer with a paddle attachment on medium speed until fluffy & light in color
Add egg and vanilla to butter mixture, incorporate, scrape bowl
Sift together all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to butter and egg mixture
Incorporate buttermilk.

Pecan Coffee Cake
Prepare 8” spring form pan, coating the inside with butter
Pour cake batter into the pan
Sprinkle with streusel topping
Bake at 375 degrees F for approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out cleanly when inserted into the middle.
