Banana Pudding...as the Groom's Cake?
What better place than your wedding to serve comfort food! That's exactly what one Houston man did when he chose this amazing Banana Pudding recipe as a delicious alternative to a traditional groom's cake!
Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup of Sugar
- 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
- 3 Cups Milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 4 oz butter 1 Stick
- 4 Bananas - sliced
- 1 Box Vanilla Wafers 12oz
Instructions
- The Junior League Banana Pudding Recipe:
- Mix together sugar and cornstarch and slowly add milk.
- This should be cooked in the top of a double boiler, stirring until it thickens. Do not leave unattended.
- Slightly beat egg yolks and temper with a small amount of the custard mixture; stir well. Add egg mixture to custard pot and cook 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract and butter. Let cool.
- Alternate in glass serving bowl … wafers, bananas, pudding . Repeat sequence.
