Monger's Market Crab Cake "Sammy"

Jumbo lump crab meat with fried green tomatoes, tartar sauce, and a delectable apple-jalapeño slaw courtesy of Monger's Market + Kitchen in ATX!

Ingredients
  

Building the Sandwich:

  • 1-3 oz crab cake pan fried
  • 1/3 c apple jalapeño slaw
  • 1 T tartar sauce
  • 3 slices fried green tomatoes
  • Pan au lait burger bun

Crab Cake:

  • 1 lb jumbo lump crab
  • 2 Fresno chiles minced
  • 2 shallots minced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 lemon juiced
  • 1 t Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 t Old Bay
  • 1/4 c chopped parsley
  • 1/4 c mayonnaise
  • 1/3 c panko bread crumb

Jalapeño Slaw:

  • 1 c shredded cabbage
  • 2 jalapeno finely julienne
  • 1/2 small red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/4 c apple shredded
  • 1/4 c carrot shredded
  • 1/4 c apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/4 c mayonnaise

Tarter Sauce:

  • 1 c mayonnaise
  • 1/2 lemon juiced
  • 1/4 sweet relish
  • 3 cornichons minced
  • 1 T celery leaves minced
  • 1 shallot minced
  • 1/4 herbs (parsley tarragon, chive)

Instructions
 

For the Crab Cake:

  • Mix all ingredients together. Sauté. Salt and pepper to taste.

For the Jalapeño Slaw:

  • Mix all ingredients together. Salt and pepper to taste.

For the Tartar Sauce:

  • Mix all ingredients together. Salt and pepper to taste.
