Mongers BBQ Shrimp

Head on BBQ Gulf shrimp tossed with tasso (ham) from my friends at Mongers Market + Kitchen in Austin! Served with a toasted baguette and charred lemon half.

Ingredients
  

  • 16 pcs head on shrimp 9-12 ct
  • 1 oz olive oil
  • 2 oz Tasso thinly sliced
  • 1 Tblsp chopped garlic
  • 3 oz Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 Tblsp creole mustard
  • 2 tsp Creole seasoning
  • 2 tsp Black Pepper
  • kosher salt to taste
  • 1/4 lb butter cubed

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Tasso and garlic and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 min.
  • Add shrimp and toss to coat with Tasso, garlic and oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Season with salt, black pepper and creole seasoning. Add Worcestershire, mustard and lemon juice.
  • When shrimp are just about cooked, 2 minutes, remove from heat and stir in butter.
  • Divide shrimp among 4 plates, top with the sauce. Serve with baguette and lemon halves.
