Our H-E-B Cooking Connection take on Chef Jack Gilmore's Chowda Fries from Salt Traders in Round Rock, TX. Perfect for the first cold snap of the year or for a comfort food dinner!
Course Appetizers
Servings 2

Ingredients

  • 1 package Thick Cut Steak-House French Fries frozen
  • 1 package H-E-B Applewood Smoked Bacon microwaveable
  • 1 container H-E-B Delicatessen Refrigerated Soup New England Clam Chowder
  • green onions freshly chopped

Instructions

  • Cook fries on a foil lined cookie sheet in a single layer according to package directions.
  • While fries cook, thinly slice the green onions and set aside. Cook bacon according to package directions and coarsely chop. In a small sauce pan gently warm the New England Clam Chowder until piping hot.

To Serve:

  • Take a big handful of fries and put them in your bowl (a cast iron skillet is great!) or on a plate. Top with the piping hot New England Clam Chowder, and sprinkle over all the sliced green onions and chopped bacon.
  • A nice touch would be to add some thinly sliced sautéd leeks to the toppings as well!
