At first glance, Roswell might trick you into thinking you’ve stepped into the sister city of Boerne or Gruene. Its hill country charm and boutique shops make it a nice getaway from the busy city.
It’s about a thirty minute drive from downtown Atlanta. The streets are lined with all different types of restaurants and speciality shops. You can spend an entire afternoon walking around and tasting your way through the tiny city!
One restaurant that caught our eye was Table & Main. It’s nestled inside an old homestead. When you walk in, the hard floor floors really set the mood of a southern feel. This isn’t just a southern tavern and bourbon bar though. It’s also home to some of the best fried chicken our staff has tasted in the state.
The menu is seasonal and always changing. Here’s a look at what we sampled and would recommend you try when you’re in this neck of the woods. Start out your meal with a fried okra appetizer. They’re served with an aioli, tomato jam and specialty pickles.
They’re the perfect choice to get your palate worked up for some southern fare…
A “must order” main course is the fried chicken. It’s the perfect combo of a flaky and crisp skin and tender and juicy meat. You get it all in every bite. People come from miles around just to have it!
The mac ‘n cheese is so rich and flavorful. It’s made with a Velveeta béchamel and some of the most decadent mac ‘n cheese you’ll have in the city. It’s definitely worth the splurge.
